My music my life
Born in Dublin at the beginning of the 1990’s a turbulent decade in Ireland as many will remember, the recession of the 80’s had given way to a brand new era. As we were all starting to feel the financial release and false security the celtic tiger gave us, Garreth was busy growing up and learning his craft.
Always raised in a house of music he soon adopted instrument after instrument finally finding that his guitar would soon become an extension of mind, body and soul he began to show his passion for music to world.
Sure it started small but everyone needs to start somewhere. Gigging with a small Dundalk punk band in any venue they could secure purely for the love of music Garreth started to blossom until the band split and Garreth went on to pursue a career as a solo artist in Pubs around Dundalk and Carlingford.
His first semi regular spot was in The Milestone Bar at the tender age of 16 helped by fellow musician and friend Dave Reilly who on many occasions played alongside Garreth. He soon outgrew the small bar graduating to bigger pubs with bigger crowds Securing more than one Resident spot in Jordan’s, The Carlingford arms and also stretching his wings as far as Cooley and Dundalk by the age of 18.
Now Garreth has dived in headfirst to try and capture the hearts of the people of Dublin, his self-confessed, hometown. Keep and eye out because he will soon be gigging at a venue near you with hints of a tour of Ireland in the near future along with a self produced album in the works.
